You may only want to build a 18" long wooden model boat to sail in your swimming pool. (or your cess pool if you are totally lacking in good taste...) That can a fun project in itself.

But my main interest in reprinting this particular book lies in the vertical steam engine with its 3/4" bore and 1-3/8" stroke AND the boiler. You get details on the all the parts that go into the engine including data on the patterns and molding techniques needed to pour castings.

Or build the display case to display those model engines you've built. Better yet, caulk the display case to make it water-tight, and sail IT in your cess pool...
