Glass Working by Heat and Abrasion Another hundred-year-old gem from Hasluck's "Work" series! Chapters include: appliances used in Glass blowing, manipulating glass tubing, blowing bulbs and flasks, jointing tubes to bulbs etc, forming thistle funnels, blowing and etching fancy glass articles, gilding and embossing sheet glass, utilising broken glass apparatus, boring and riveting glass, hand-working of telescope specula, turning and grinding glass, and the manufacture of glass.
So start creating laboratory glassware. Be careful, though! Your dipstick neighbors will think you're running a designer drug lab!
Note: we first reprinted this in 1989, but haven't had any in stock for the last few years. It's back for a while. Another excellent book by PN Hasluck. His little books never fail to be interesting. But you always wish good books were bigger. This is one of them. Great ideas. Get a copy! 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 softcover 160 pages No. 20250 ... not available at this time |
