Bob Jorgensen's version of a Frisbie horizontal overtype engine made by J. and E. Stevens and Company, Connecticut about 1871. It had a cast iron boiler and patent gear operated from the connecting rod without the use of an eccentric. This was built from a single photograph published in "Toy Steam Engines" by Bob Gordon, an inexpensive British booklet that we have sold from time to time. (no description on this web site) |

This original from which this beautiful engine was derived was a model engine originally manufactured by Witney in London in the early 1900's. This dual cylinder engine sported 1" bore cylinders with 1 1/2" stroke. Far more complete plans are described in "Model Making" by R F Yates from 1925 than what Bob Jorgensen usually works with. |

| Bob writes: "This is Robertson's semi-rotary engine as pictured on page 299 of Modern Steam Engines. [described in our catalog] The square piston is 3/4 x 3/4. Don't know how many were built but I bet they were a pain to keep packing in them. Modern Steam Engines by Joshua Rose is truly a book that no steam nut should be without."
