Tesla Was Not Completely Sane

Tesla's contemporaries knew that Tesla was "eccentric". But people knowledgeable in mental disorders will tell you he exhibited classic symptoms of delusional behavior. And the stories told about Tesla's attachment to a pigeon late in life reinforce claims that Telsa was only marginally sane.

Tesla told the story of Edison short-changing him shortly after he arrived here from Europe which led to their falling out. That may have happened. But maybe not. Tesla may have imagined it, or at the very least exaggerated it.

Delusional people cannot discern between imagination and reality. Delusional people will sometimes state as fact fantastic events that never happened. They believe what they say is true, but it is not. This is what we call mental illness.
